Never alone
Have you ever felt isolated, alone and afraid? Yeah, me too. Those feelings are real and maybe right now you are feeling one or more of those things.
The reality is, the enemy wants you to believe the lie that you are alone, you are unloved and that life is too risky to take part in. However, he only does this to distract you from the truth, because if you knew the truth, you would know how capable and strong you could be.
The enemy, your enemy, wants to steal you of your joy, your life and your strength source: God. Your God, the only God, who sent Jesus Christ, his son, to die for you - made it possible that you would never have to be alone or afraid. When Jesus rose from the dead (you can read about this in the Gospels) he defeated the enemy and declared victory over death (the consequence of our sins).
In the New Testament, Paul says that those who believe Jesus is Lord are “marked with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance” (Ephesians 1:14). God has made a promise; to not only be with you, but to live within you, making it possible for you to live in right relationship with God forever (literal eternity).
God designed you in love and for love. You have always been loved and you have never been alone. That fear which grips you, although feels real, has only the power you let it. You can talk to God and tell him what you are afraid of and what you are worried about. When you do this, he will help you get through it, all you need to do is trust him. “Cast all your anxiety on God because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
Below are some scripture you can read, and re read, and maybe print and stick on your wall to remind you: God loves you, he is near to you and he has a purpose for your life (that doesn’t include fear).
Joshua 1:9
This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Isaiah 41:10
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand
Psalm 23:4
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.
John 16:33
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
Psalm 40:1-3
I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire.He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.
Philippians 4:6-7
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Matthew 11:28
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Psalm 34:18
If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there; if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
