Final Word

There are times we want to have the final word,

as if it’s a trophy to be won.  

To stand our ground, to dominate,

to control and to prove ourselves. 

Then there are times where we wish

silence didn’t follow the words we uttered, 

Or the messages we sent.

It’s words like 

I hate you, goodbye or I love you. 

So choose your final words carefully.

For some of us are still desperately hoping

for someone to take away the trophy

of having the final word.
